AdventureWorks Database is an online database that supports a fictitious, multinational manufacturing company named Adventure Works Cycles. The data in this project was analyzed in Power Query, followed by building a relational model and utilizing DAX measures to incorporate extra calculated fields. Finally, a dashboard was created to visualize the company performance.
Dataset was from Adventure Works cycles data provided by Maven Analytics. The data consists of five different table:
· Transactions
· Returns
· Products
· Customers
· Territories
For this project, I acted as the Business Intelligence Analyst and my goal was to:
· Track core business KPIs like sales, revenues, profit and returns.
· Compare regional performance across sales territories.
· Analyze product performance based on trends and forecast for future profits.
· Identify high-performing customers in the business.
· Transforming data in power query. This allows for normalizing and cleaning up the data.
· Managing relationships in the model view. Established relationships between lookup table and facts table using joins.
· Incorporating DAX (Data Analysis Expression) queries to create calculated columns and DAX measures.
· Showing Key Metrics with Cards and KPI visuals, visualizing matrix, Line Charts, Tree Maps, Gauge, Map, Clustered Bar chart, donut charts, Line and Clustered Column Charts.
· Editing Power BI interactions through slicers, adding Drill-through filters, page level, report level and Visual level filters. · Designed an interactive report to analyze and visualize the data.
To summarize all I did, I put all the different visualizations into an interactive dashboard that allows anyone go through my work step by step. View dashboard here [Adventure Works cycles Report]
